New phone

omg finally. It's been 7 years coming. I've talked about it since February this year. I've finally ordered a new phone <3 I've been living since Year 8 with a crappy lil' Sony Ericsson. I got it about a year and a half after it went outta fashion. The keypad is pretty much worn away, scratches here and there, interface has become cluggy, camera is crap and can only store a limited amount of text.

I've had my eye on this phone since last year. But I couldn't get out of my contract until now... stupid 2 year contracts. My mother used my plan to get herself a new phone and I got stuck with mine for another two years... However, now she's paying me back by using her number to get a PS3 instead of a phone :D Pretty much means a free PS3 for Shanan. This also means I'll have to get myself a TV up at my place larger than like the mini-TV they provide in my building. *sigh* It means I'm going to have to find the same as well ... will need a powerboard...

Yeah, my near phone is a LG Renoir and I'm super-duper excited! Well not really, I mean it's just a phone. It's had a pretty kickass camera, so I'll hopefully be getting a whole bunch of photos with that - as well as videos. I wonder how the video quality of that phone matches with the quality of my JVC - I'm hoping, for what it cost that the JVC ends up trumping it.

It's a touch so it has the tilt-to-keyboard function. This pretty much ensures far more and far quicker texting - so all you peeps better beware :@ I was considering getting a smart phone, but really in Canberra it's not worth it. In terms of wifi there's hardly any coverage and even with a dataplan, I can't imagine me having much use for it outside of Twitter.

How sad is it that in my mind this new phone will somehow mean a big change in my life? For one thing, it has an mp3 player, meaning I finally don't have to keep saying "my iPod is dead" as an excuse for why I never have music. Not that I need it, as I've blogged about before. I'm quite comfortable sitting in silence on a bus - I don't need to go running for music at every instance of boredom.
